Thomas Burns

An enthusiastic young journalist from London, recently completed MA in International Journalism at City, University of London. Specialised in sports journalism, other fields of interest include International affairs and Politics. During MA studies, I gained experience in producing and presenting TV and radio programs, developing podcasts, multi-media features and news articles and writing live football match reports. As part of ‘City News International’ I developed collaborative teamworking newsroom skills and enjoyed working under high intensity pressure to meet daily TV and radio news broadcasting deadlines. I travelled internationally to produce a radio piece on the recovery of the once destroyed town of Vukovar during the Balkan war in 1990s, for which I researched the topic, sourced the interviewees, recorded, translated, edited and produced the final 10 minute radio project. Skillset include use of Adobe Audition, Adobe Premiere Pro and proficient knowledge of using Shorthand program. Multi-linguist, excellent communicator with a positive attitude and curious mindset. Thrives in a fast-paced teamwork environments and enjoys multiculturalism and diversity. Currently looking for a position in the media sector.

Having recently graduated from my Masters degree in international Journalism at City University of London I am now looking to enter the media sector. I am flexible, open to consider full time, part time and contract roles.
